Buxton Museum and Art Gallery - Kirk Ireton Hoard Display - Winner of the 2017 Tonypandy Cup
This sculptural piece was commissioned to Display and Interpret a hoard of 24, tiny 13th century coins. I de-constructed the coins and enlarged key visual elements to form large decorative discs. Interaction with the piece is encouraged through a large magnifying glass, which can be positioned over each of the actual coins and through the tactile, three-dimensional discs. This piece has been awarded the 2017 Tonypandy Cup, the most prestigious award that can be awarded by the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths
